Hou Yanqi, the ambassador to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on the new Minister of Energy and Water Resources and Irrigation of Nepal, Busar, and Sitola, Director of the Development Cooperation and Coordination Department of the Ministry of Energy of Nepal was present on July 30.

Ambassador Hou congratulated her on new appointment and introduced the cooperation between China and Nepal in the energy field. She said that in recent years, the cooperation between China and Nepal in various fields under the framework of the “Belt and Road” has developed vigorously, especially the cooperation in the fields of energy, water resources and irrigation has achieved fruitful results. It is hoped that both parties will continue to strengthen communication and work together to solve common problems of existing projects, actively and steadily promote project implementation, and make new contributions to promoting Nepal economic and social development and improving people's lives.

Busar congratulated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has achieved great development that has attracted worldwide attention. Nepal deeply admires this. The relations between Nepal and China have a long history, and the two peoples share weal and woe. China has always supported Nepal in defending its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Nepal firmly adheres to the one-China policy and actively supports and participates in the construction of the "Belt and Road". Thanks to the Chinese government and Chinese companies for their support and assistance in the fields of energy, water resources and irrigation. The Nepal side is willing to strengthen communication with China on cooperation in related fields, and increase coordination and support for the practical difficulties faced by specific projects to jointly promote project implementation.
